Hifu – Firming and tightening the skin Krakow

HIFU is a treatment that uses high-power focused ultrasound. This technology allows for a completely non-invasive skin lifting, which does not require breaking its continuity and does not require convalescence. The treatment has a two-fold action. It enables an almost immediately noticeable lifting effect, and at the same time – allows for long-term reconstruction of the skin structure and improvement of its tension. The ultrasonic wave heats the skin tissue, causing a thermal effect. In addition, the tissues are made to vibrate. As a result of both these mechanisms of action, the synthesis of collagen fibers is stimulated, the skin thickens and its structure is strengthened. During the procedure, it is possible to precisely control the depth of the impact of the ultrasound wave. This depth may range from 1.5 mm, through depths of 3 mm, 4.5 mm, 6 mm and 9 mm, up to a depth of 13 mm.

The ultrasound wave emitted by the HIFU device affects collagen – the basic building protein of the skin. First, vibrations are generated in the tissue, which leads to molecular friction and heating the tissue to a temperature of 60-70 degrees. Then the collagen is denatured and the fibers of this protein shorten, and thermal coagulation points are created within the skin and subcutaneous tissue. Thanks to this, it is possible to immediately notice the skin lifting effect, its firmness and structure strengthening.

The formation of thermal coagulation points is accompanied by the stimulation of regeneration processes. And this phenomenon is responsible for the later noticeable effects of the HIFU treatment. The first stage of the skin and subcutaneous tissue regeneration process is the formation of local inflammation in which inflammatory cells are involved. Their task is, among others stimulation of the activity of fibroblasts – skin cells responsible for the synthesis of new collagen fibers. The synthesis of elastin fibers is also activated. Active reconstruction of the skin structure begins about 3-4 weeks after the treatment and may last for many months. During this period, the phenomenon of neo-collagenesis takes place, the formation of cross-links between the fibers – and finally the zones of thermal damage are replaced by new collagen.

The HIFU Ulfit technology uses several innovative solutions that make the treatments very effective. One of such solutions is the MFU technology, i.e. Micro Focused Ultrasound. We are talking about high-frequency focused ultrasounds that can act to a specific depth in the skin – 1.5 mm, 3 mm or 4.5 mm. Ultrasounds generate a thermal effect by heating collagen fibers to a temperature of 60 – 70 degrees. The resulting coagulation centers stimulate the regeneration processes of collagen fibers. The camera head is designed in such a way as to allow precise action on specific parts of the skin. This allows for the effective performance of the treatment also in those areas of the body that are inaccessible to other devices of this type.

Another technology is MFCU, or Macro Focused Circular Ultrasound. These are spinning ultrasounds with a large focus. This technology allows the skin and subcutaneous tissue to be subjected to ultrasounds delivered in a continuous circular motion. Ultrasound works at a depth of 6 mm, 9 mm or 13 mm. This makes it possible to obtain perfect results in a short time and allows for very effective stimulation of tissues on the border of the deeper layers of the skin and subcutaneous fat. On the one hand, it allows to reduce the volume of subcutaneous fat, and on the other, it strengthens the skin by stimulating the synthesis of collagen fibers.

Another innovative solution is the “pain control” mode, which allows to minimize pain sensations by up to 80%, because the focus point changes very quickly. In addition, this technology ensures a quick treatment over a larger area of ​​the body.

The indication for the HIFU treatment is the desire to make the skin more flexible, firm it and strengthen its structure. This applies to both the face and any area of ​​the body. HIFU allows to smooth out face wrinkles, reduce such changes related to the aging of the skin, such as:

• forehead wrinkles
• wrinkles around the eyes
• nasolabial furrows
• loose skin under the eyes
• unsharp face oval
• double chin

The treatment can be successfully performed on the neck and cleavage area, which allows to reduce its laxity, smooth wrinkles and improve skin elasticity. Another indication for HIFU treatment is the desire to firm such problematic areas of the body as the arms, where the so-called “Pelicans” may occur, that is, excess loose skin or the area above the knees. HIFU helps to firm and strengthen the skin on the thighs, buttocks, hips, abdomen and breasts. The treatment with the use of an ultrasonic wave allows to you slim the body, reduce cellulite and shape the body.

Before the HIFU procedure – as well as before any aesthetic medicine procedure – consultation is necessary. The doctor assesses the condition of the skin, excludes the presence of contraindications to the procedure and discusses the expected results with the patient. The treatment does not have to be preceded by special preparations; it is enough to thoroughly clean the skin before the treatment.

The HIFU treatment consists in applying the selected camera head to selected parts of the skin. The head is applied to the same place many times, acting at different depths. This is done without damaging the skin’s continuity. A single treatment takes about 20 – 30 minutes.

You can go back to your regular activities immediately after the treatment as the skin is only slightly red. It is recommended to use only cold water when washing your face. There may be a slight or mild swelling – this is normal. Ice packs and steroid cream can be applied as needed to soothe the skin. If there are small scabs, avoid breaking them – the skin must heal at its own pace.

Make-up (preferably mineral based) can be applied immediately after treatment. You can use soothing, non-irritating creams or moisturizing creams. Another important recommendation is to avoid sun exposure immediately after the treatment and to use a minimum 30+ filter. In addition, it is imperative to avoid exfoliation or the use of AHA / BHA acid products for at least a week or until all skin sensitivity is gone.

It is good to limit strenuous physical effort to the treated area for 3-4 weeks. In addition, it is worth increasing your protein intake to speed up the process of skin healing and collagen regeneration.

Taking a vitamin C supplement is beneficial for collagen synthesis and is an essential nutrient for skin health. You should also remember to stay hydrated – it is necessary to drink at least 2 liters of fluids a day.

HIFU is a one-time treatment, there is no need to perform a series of treatments. Immediately after the skin is exposed to the ultrasound wave, you can notice its firming and strengthening. It is estimated to be around 20-30% of the final effect. And this effect can be assessed after two to three months, when the skin structure is completely rebuilt. The treated area is strengthened, toned and smoothed. The effects usually last for about 2 years, and then a gradual degradation of collagen fibers may occur again. The aging processes are especially intensified in people who expose their skin to the sun or smoke cigarettes. After a dozen or so months from the first treatment, you may decide to repeat the procedure.

The effect of the Hifu treatment is a comprehensive improvement of the face oval, firming and smoothing the skin, elimination of wrinkles and furrows. It is possible to reduce the double chin and “hamsters”, rejuvenate the neck and décolleté and improve the line of the lower jaw. There are several situations that exclude the possibility of undergoing HIFU treatment. First of all, the procedure is not performed in pregnant and breastfeeding women. Another contraindication is the presence of skin lesions, inflammations or infections in the area of ​​the skin that is to be treated with ultrasound. Moreover, the HIFU procedure cannot be performed in people suffering from neurodegenerative diseases, cancer, epilepsy, diabetes, and also in the case of having a pacemaker.
