Age Spots
Age spots, or liver spots, which in medical jargon are called pigmented spots, is age-related skin discoloration. The cause of their appearance is primarily long-term exposure to the sun (natural UV radiation or solarium lamps). For this reason, age spots are also called sunspots. Their formation is also supported by the use of medicines that increase light sensitivity. The resulting skin changes have a characteristic location and they are age spots on the hands or on the face. However, this is not the only cause because another one is the hyperpigmentation of the skin that progresses with age. Then, not only can you notice age spots on your hands but alsoage spots on your back, or in another location. Liver spots get worse with age, which is reflected in their increasing number and size.
