Lifting Threads

Short and straight PDO threads are distinguished by their small length and a structure devoid of any modifications. Thanks to this, such threads can be used to rejuvenate selected areas of the face – smoothing wrinkles and furrows, improving skin density and firming it. Our clinic successfully performs less invasive methods for this purpose, such as smoothing wrinkles with fillers or lasers. Therefore, we consider PDO threads with hooks, i.e. lifting threads, to be particularly recommendable.

PDO threads equipped with hooks are perfect for advanced facial rejuvenation and improving its oval. Thanks to the presence of hooks, it is possible to physically tuck the skin and subcutaneous tissue. The hooks anchor into the deep layers of the skin and lift it up. The second aspect of the PDO thread is to stimulate the activity of fibroblasts. The threads introduced under the skin stimulate the adjacent tissues, initiating skin regeneration processes. This results in an increase in the synthesis of collagen and elastin, which significantly improves the quality of the skin, thickens it and firms it. Such synergy of action allows for spectacular effects. Ultimately – the treatment with PDO threads allows for comprehensive rejuvenation of the entire face. It is about reducing deep wrinkles and furrows, as well as flabby and wrinkled skin, and restoring the correct oval of the entire face. The effect of rejuvenating and lifting the face is also provided by screw threads, i.e. single threads twisted in a spiral on the needle. Inserting such a thread under the skin is a bit like screwing a screw, which allows for a spectacular effect of lifting the skin.

Aptos lifting threads are an advanced technology that allows to lift the face without a scalpel. Aptos soluble threads are made of polylactic acid, which is a fully biocompatible and biodegradable compound. Polylactic acid stimulates the synthesis of hyaluronic acid, responsible for revitalizing and moisturizing the skin. The thread also includes polycaprolactone. Aptos threads have a number of solutions that allow for even more effective and lasting lifting:

• a long thread that connects to two needles

When is it worth deciding on such a procedure?

Indications for the treatment with lifting threads are primarily the loss of the face oval associated with the passage of time and loss of skin firmness. Threads allow to reduce such aesthetic defects as:

• cheek-zygomatic furrows
• drooping eyebrows

The PDO threads treatment is preceded by a consultation with a doctor who assesses the appearance of the face and decides which type of lifting threads will work best. After an individual consultation, the procedure can be performed. After the skin is anesthetized with the cream and the injection sites are marked on the skin, the doctor uses a thin needle to insert PDO threads. Injections are made using the natural lines of skin tension. The procedure lasts from 15 to 45 minutes, depending on the number of lifting threads introduced.

The use of local anesthesia abolishes the pain sensation; on the other hand, after the treatment, cold compresses relieve pain.

Immediately after inserting the lifting threads under the skin, a temporary reddening of the skin and swelling may appear. Proper skin care is necessary after the treatment with PDO threads. It is inadvisable to use cosmetics that may irritate the skin. For the first few days after the treatment, it is advisable to sleep on your back, avoid excessive facial expressions, face massage or any cosmetic procedures. It is advisable to avoid sun exposure.

The insertion of PDO threads requires only small skin punctures, so the procedure is minimally invasive and very safe.
